A chance meeting at a writers' conference brought Cary Morgan Frates and Deborah O'Neill Cordes together, two award-winning authors who connected because of a mutual love of time travel fiction. Collaboration ensued, the search for a pen name the first step in their working relationship. Their maiden names provided the solution and "Morgan O'Neill" was born. Since that first meeting in 2002, Cary and Deborah have produced six time travel novels together, with several others in the works. Their backgrounds are uniquely suited to writing stories steeped in atmosphere and history: Deborah has a Master’s Degree in history; Cary is a talented linguist in French and is currently a student of Latin. They've each traveled to Europe’s ancient and medieval sites many times, with Cary living on the Continent for five years.
Cary grew up in the greater Seattle area, where three brothers, laughter, the great outdoors, and competitive sports were the hallmarks of her early years. She has always had a passion for travel, languages, history and storytelling. She lived on her own in France for several years, but has since returned to the Pacific Northwest to settle and raise her children. Her passion for sailing began over twenty years ago on San Francisco Bay, and she has since had the privilege of sailing in the Caribbean, Greece, Puget Sound and Canada's Inland Passage.
